Cocaine Rehab

If you, your family member, or friend, are struggling with an addiction to cocaine and are looking for help, accessing cocaine rehab can provide you with the best chance at becoming addiction free.

Cocaine Rehab

What is Cocaine Rehab?

Cocaine rehab facilities specialise in providing professional addiction counseling. Addiction specialists and clinicians at a cocaine rehabilitation facility are well equipped to provide the right nutrition and medication that is needed to successfully detox from cocaine in a controlled and safe environment, whilst giving people battling addiction the time they need to fully rest and restore their health.

Given that cocaine abuse can cause changes to occur within the brain, it is known to cause a number of problems and tensions to arise within families. Therefore, in order to be able to effectively treat cocaine addiction, cocaine rehab facilities ensure that patients receive medical attention and support with their brain chemistry and social problems in order for them to be able to achieve long-term, active, recovery.

If you would like to secure immediate admission into rehab for cocaine, or are looking for further advice and cocaine addiction help, whether it is for yourself or a loved one, speak to an addiction expert for free on 0800 002 9010, or email help@portofcall.com.

Cocaine Rehabilitation Treatment

Your treatment journey should be tailored to your needs and most treatment should involve some form of talking therapy. Talking therapies are when you talk about your drug problems and can involve exploring the reasons for your drug use what you can do to resist taking drugs in the future. This type of therapy, alongside other support, has been proven to be effective for people trying to achieve recovery from cocaine addiction issues. Prescribed medication may also be required for certain people, depending on their previous level of dependency and subsequent withdrawal symptoms and general health, but this will be decided by the medical staff that is taking care of you.

Cocaine Rehab Process

Although every cocaine rehabilitation programme or rehab clinic will have its own individual approach to the cocaine rehab process, there are usually three main stages of rehab to go through:

1. Detox

Drug detox can either happen naturally or medically. Natural detox involves immediate withdrawal from taking the drug whilst in the care of medical professionals. The medical team is present to help you make it through the withdrawal symptoms that will take place during this process. Detox withdrawal symptoms are not usually life-threatening, but they can be quite uncomfortable which is why having support staff present is so important.

2. Therapy/Counselling

Addiction rehabilitation therapy and counselling addresses the psychological aspect of dependence. These sessions take place either as private, one-to-one meetings or with a group of other recovering addicts as a group counselling session. Family counselling for immediate members of the family is also available. What all these approaches to counselling have in common is the goal of delving into a person’s history in order to better understand any ‘triggers’ for addiction, so that a plan can be put into place to better respond to stressful situations in the future.

3. Aftercare

Aftercare can involve a wide variety of programmes aimed at helping you to stay off drugs after the detox programme is over. Drug rehab aftercare programmes can range from attending a 12-step meeting to addiction therapy at another facility, or even time spent at a drug-free living home.

Cocaine Rehab Success Rate

Cocaine rehabilitation success rates all depend on how you approach and live your life after you have completed the cocaine rehab programme. Recovery from a drug problem is a long-term process but research shows that if you put certain elements and approaches in place, this can minimise the chances of a cocaine relapse and increase the likelihood that you will maintain your recovery in the future. Having a stable place to live, developing a new network of non-drug using friends and focusing on work or education can all assist in this success. You can also get support from other people who have experienced similar issues. Joining a mutual aid group such as Narcotics Anonymous or Cocaine Anonymous, can play an important role in this recovery for many people, including new approaches to peer support established by groups like Smart Recovery.
